All products are handmade by ethnic minorities of Sangthong district, one of the poorest districts of Lao PDR – 70 km to the west from Vientiane capital along the Mekong River. These products are part of the value chains which supported by SNV (capacity building for GDG and local communities). If you interested in order some of the products GDG will facilitate the contacts with the local trade association Mr. Khammeuang Keokongmeuang, mobile phone number is +856 020 2446294. Neither SNV nor GDG are directly involved with the selling of the products. All incomes generated will go to the local communities. The prices will depend of quantity and the delivery costs fixed by the Bamboo Traders Association and the Lao Women Union.

The Bamboo Traders Association was established 2004 without any supporting from outside.  Currently we have more than 250 products which made from bamboo in differnet spices and made by minority ethnic group in Sangthong district.  65% of invcolving with handicraft is women and children from 17 villages in the poor areas.
